NEW YORK, MAY 26, 2010 (Zenit.org).- The secretary of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Sacraments will be in New York next week to speak about the intellectual sense of belief in God and an objective moral order.

Archbishop Joseph Di Noia, who is originally from New York, will give an address at the Yale Club on June 2.

The prelate, who is a member of the Dominican Order, will tap into his congregation’s intellectual tradition, drawing on St. Dominic and St. Thomas Aquinas, to speak about: what it means to call Christ the Savior; what it means to be authentically human; and what it means to be moral.

Before being named to the liturgy congregation last June, at which point he was elevated to the dignity of archbishop, Father Di Noia served as the undersecretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.

He worked as editor of the magazine “Thomist” and was the founding director of the intercultural forum at the John Paul II Cultural Center in Washington, D.C.

Father Di Noia served as secretary of the doctrinal commission for the U.S. bishops’ conference and later as a member of the International Theological Commission while it was headed by Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger.

He wrote “The Diversity of Religions,” and co-authored “The Love That Never Ends: A Key to the Catechism of the Catholic Church” with Gabriel O’Donnell, Father Romanus Cessario and Peter Cameron.
