Announcement Includes His Visit to Holy Land

The Vatican today released a calendar of celebrations to be presided by Pope Francis During in May 2014.

The news release contains three events: On Sunday May 11, the Fourth Sunday of Easter, he will preside at priestly ordinations and Mass in the Vatican Basilica at 9.30 am.

In the afternoon on Sunday May 18, the Fifth Sunday of Easter, the Pope will make a pastoral visit to the Rome parish of “Santa Maria del Divino Amore,” at 4:00 pm

Finally, the Pope will go on his eagerly anticipated Holy Land Pilgrimage to mark the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the meeting in Jerusalem between Pope Paul VI and Patriarch Athenagoras. The apostolic voyage begins from Saturday 24th May and runs until Monday 26th.
