During a meeting behind closed doors Wednesday at the Businessmen´s International Club, the president emeritus of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace exhorted businessmen to conduct themselves with “social responsibility and foster solidarity for the benefit of the working class.”

Cardinal Etchegaray is on a visit to Mexico. On behalf of John Paul II, he delivered a message of concord last weekend to the state of Chiapas, in armed conflict since 1994.
