Document on Priesthood and Homosexuality Is Due

VATICAN CITY, NOV. 28, 2005 (Zenit.org).- The Holy See’s long-awaited instruction touching on the priesthood, seminaries and homosexuality is due out Tuesday.

The document is entitled “Concerning the Criteria for the Discernment of Vocations with Regard to Persons with Homosexual Tendencies in View of Their Admission to the Seminary and to Holy Orders.”

The seven-page document, approved by Benedict XVI on Aug. 31, is being published by the Congregation for Catholic Education.

It is signed by Cardinal Zenon Grocholewski and Archbishop J. Michael Miller, president and secretary, respectively, of the said congregation.

ZENIT plans to publish the full text of the instruction.
