As a diocesan priest, I do not necessarily feel called to live in community. That is certainly the charism of religious priests but not of diocesan priests. Of course, there may be diocesan priests that want to live in community, but it is not a panacea for every priest.
Certainly, diocesan priests should not be forced to live in community. If they would rather live alone, that is their right. So if it is helpful for some, that is great, but it should not be forced.
