The Holy Father will arrive in Guatemala from Toronto, and will canonize Brother Peter of St. Joseph Betancur (1926-1967), member of the Third Order of St. Francis and founder of the Orders of Bethlemite Brothers and Sisters.

Metropolitan Archbishop Rodolfo Quezada and Archbishop Ramiro Molliner, the papal nuncio, said in press statements Tuesday that they have not thought of the possibility of the Pope´s not coming.

“It is an hypothesis that we have not even contemplated. We work as if the Holy Father´s health is 300%,” Archbishop Quezada said.

The archbishop just ended a visit to Rome, in which the details were approved for the canonization ceremony. Brother Peter will also become the first canonized saint of Spain´s Canary Islands, where he was born.

At a press conference, a scale model of the altar was presented, which will be erected in the Southern Racetrack for the canonization ceremony.
