The Latin Patriarchate’s perspective on the political situation in the Holy Land will be at the forefront of a discussion this Thursday in Jerusalem.

Held at the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute at 7 pm, Jesuit Father David Neuhaus, an expert rabbi, and a renowned research fellow will also discuss the development of the local Church’s involvement in the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians, and the role the Church seeks to play in the conflict.

According to a recent press release, it will also present the main players in this development and their role in formulating the particular discourse that the Church has developed over the past decades.

The talk will be chaired by Rabbi Dr. Ron Kronish, Director, ICCI, the respondent will be Dr. Merav Mack of the Harry S. Truman Research Institute for the Advancement of Peace, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and Fr. Neuhaus.

Father Neuhaus is the Latin Patriarchal Vicar for Hebrew-Speaking Catholics in Israel and heads the Assembly of Catholic Bishops in the Holy Land’s Commission for Relations with the Jews and is a member of the Assembly’s Commission for Justice and Peace.
