Italian Archdiocese Reaching Out via Web

POTENZA, Italy, FEB. 15, 2004 ( Archbishop Agostino Superbo of Potenza has invited young people and all the faithful to make use of a new diocesan Web site.

The archbishop encouraged the faithful to use the forum at to contact the priests and other faithful, and to write to him directly.

“Many Christians no longer consider themselves as a living part of the Church, but almost as strangers,” Archbishop Superbo said. Hence the need for the Church to approach young people through means available to them.

In his message, Archbishop Superbo highlighted the importance of the Mass, “celebrated on Sunday in parishes, without which a family cannot live.”

He observed that “parishes cannot close their doors precisely at the moment that young people and adults go out of their homes, after studying or working.”
