The young participants, calling themselves the “John Paul II generation,” began to arrive in Constitution Square at 2 p.m. today and were expected to continue streaming in until 11.

During the vigil, young people will pray the rosary, sing, watch religious plays and participate in catechesis.

A letter addressed to the Pope will be read during the vigil, and will be given to him when he greets the youth at the square from the “popemobile” around 9 a.m. Wednesday, before the canonization of Juan Diego.

Giant television screens around the square will cover the Pope’s arrival at Mexico City’s International Airport, his progress through the streets and the canonization Mass.
