Lack of Knowledge, Passion

A response to: Eucharist Is Not Understood, Laments Pope

Unfortunately, the Pope is right. As someone who has had experience working in a Catholic school, particularly with second graders who were prepping to receive the sacrament of Communion, I have found that there is a lack of passion and knowledge on the beauty and mystery of the Blessed Sacrament.

As an atheist author said about Catholics…if we truly believed what the Blessed Sacrament really is then we’d be crawling on our hands and knees to receive him. I think every Catholic should be encouraged to visit the Blessed Sacrament during adoration and every parish should offer adoration as often as they are able.
