Meeting to Focus on Liturgical Issues

VATICAN CITY, FEB. 27, 2005 (Zenit.org).- The Congregation for Divine Worship and the Sacraments will hold a meeting this week on current issues in the liturgical life of the Church.

Cardinal Francis Arinze, prefect of the congregation, will preside over the meeting in the Bologna Hall of the Apostolic Palace, according to a Vatican press statement. The meeting runs from Tuesday to Friday.

Speakers will include Cardinal George Pell, archbishop of Sydney, on “The Meaning, Method and Scope of the ‘Recognitio,'” the Holy See’s recognition of translations of liturgical and other texts made by episcopal conferences.

The assembly will be attended by 32 cardinals, and 19 archbishops and bishops of the congregation.
