Pope Prays for a Warless World

ROME, MAY 1, 2006 (Zenit.org).- Benedict XVI visited the Shrine of Divine Love on the outskirts of Rome and prayed that the world be spared more wars and terrorism.

The Pope flew by helicopter from the Vatican to the shrine today, the first day of the month traditionally dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary and the praying of the rosary.

“Even today,” the Holy Father said after praying the rosary with the faithful, “there is a need for conversion to God, the God of love, so that the world be freed of wars and terrorism.”
