Crowds awaiting the Pope got their wish to see Pope Francis, including even two little ones who got hugs and rosaries.

Again last night, Francis greeted enthusiastic faithful outside the Apostolic Nunciature where he is staying in Mexico City during the Feb 12 -18 Apostolic Trip, reported Vatican Radio.

The Holy Father had spent most of yesterday in the southern region of Chiapas, and returned in the evening by airplane.

As the Holy Father was heading back to his residence shortly before 8:30 p.m., after having flown back to the Mexican capitol from San Cristobal, people holding Vatican flags lined the roads leading from the airport and were cheering the Holy Father.

“Good night,” the Argentine Pope wished the people, as two little ones rushed up and hugged him. The Holy Father hugged them back and gave them rosaries.

“We will ask the Virgin to protect us all,” Pope Francis prayed, noting how much “she looks after us.”

Pope Francis led the crowd in saying a Hail Mary, and gave them his Apostolic Blessing.
