Before the General Audience this morning, Pope Francis greeted the sick in Paul VI Hall, who were gathered there due to Rome’s intense heat, reaching roughly 90 degrees at the time.

THE HOLY FATHER’S WORDS TO THE SICK

We thought it better that you be here, tranquil … somewhat cooler, no? And not under that sun that cooks, alas! You will be able to see the Audience on the giant-screen. Where will the giant-screen be? It’s that one, ah. You can see everything there, follow everything without suffering this sun; they say this will be the hottest day! Thank you.

Now, we will all pray together to Our Lady and then I will give the Blessing.

[Ave Maria] [Blessing]

Now, all of you, make yourselves comfortable. You can look at the Audience and pray for me! See you later. Thank you!
