Bishop Gordon to Leave Whitehorse Diocese

Bishop Gary Gordon of Whitehorse, Yukon, has been appointed the bishop of Victoria, British Columbia.

The 57-year-old prelate served as the bishop of Whitehorse since 2006.

The Diocese of Victoria has around 100,000 Catholics, served by about 50 priests and 80 religious.

Bishop Gordon succeeds Archbishop Richard Joseph Gagnon who was appointed to Winnipeg in October 2013.
