Pope Francis has appointed Fr. Enrique Macaraeg, 60, of the Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan,  the bishop of Tarlac, Philippines.
The bishop succeeds Bishop Florentino Cinense.
Enrique Macaraeg was born in Manila on  December 28, 1955. He completed his philosophical and theological studies at the University of Santo Tomas Central Seminary in Manila and  achieved a Masters degree in Arts in Oriental Religions and Cultures.
After he was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan in  May  1979, he served the diocese as the dean of seminarians at the San Pablo Seminary, Baguio City, and in other pastoral roles.
Korea
Pope Francis also named Auxiliary Bishop Basil Cho Kyu-man of Seoul, 60, as bishop of Wonju.
He succeeds Bishop Jacobus Kim Ji-Seok.
Basil Cho Kyu-man was born on June 8, 1955, in Dongnae, Busan, and ordained on Aug. 26, 1982, for the Archdiocese of Seoul. In 2006 he was made an auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese.
