Radio Maria Malawi Celebrates Twenty Years of Life

Radio Maria Malawi celebrated twenty years of life, confirming itself as a powerful tool of evangelization in the country. “Despite difficult times and daily difficulties, Radio Maria continues to work tirelessly to spread the Gospel”, said the Bishop of the diocese of Mangochi, Mgr. Montfort Stima, president of the Commission for Communications and Research of the Bishops’ Conference of Malawi (ECM) during the celebrations held last September 28th, reported Fides News Agency.

“Radio Maria is the most powerful tool that the Catholic Church in Malawi uses to carry out its mission of evangelization”, the Bishop insisted on emphasizing. “We combine our resources to further promote the vision and mission of this radio station, at the service of faith and truth”.
Among the guests gathered: Father Joseph Kimu, director of Radio Maria Malawi, who thanked God “for the valid instrument entrusted to him”.

The representative of “Radio Maria Africa”, Veronica Mwita, confirmed that the broadcaster receives the constant and continuous support of the entire world family of Radio Maria. He also announced that his organization will finance the construction of Radio Maria Malawi headquarters in Lilongwe. Guest of honor of the event, Ms. Francisca Masamba Theula, former volunteer of Radio Maria Malawi and currently a parliamentarian of the north-eastern Mangochi college, who thanked the people of goodwill who assisted the radio financially, which today continues to spread the Good News of the Gospel even in the most remote areas and villages of the nation.
