Archbishop Diarmuid Martin, delivering the RTE Michael Littleton Lecture 2004 recently, said that “pluralist” does not mean “secular” in the public arena.

“A pluralist society will not request people to leave their religious values at home or on the street corner before they enter into the debates of the public square,” he said in the lecture that will be broadcast Dec. 27 on Irish television, according to CatholicIreland.net.
