STEUBENVILLE, Ohio, JUNE 28, 2001 (Zenit.org).- Franciscan University of Steubenville will launch a new scholarly journal this summer, Fides Quaerens Intellectum (“faith seeking understanding”), which probes how faith brings deeper insight to academic studies.

“John Paul II´s document ´Fides et Ratio´ has started a whole wave of reflection on the relationship between faith and reason,” states Oblate of Mary Immaculate Father Bevil Bramwell, director of graduate theology at Franciscan University and editor of the journal, in a press release.

The journal will be issued in summer and winter of each year, with the first issue set to appear later this summer.

More information on Fides Quaerens Intellectum can be reached from the university´s home page at http://www.franuniv.edu.
