The meeting convoked by the Pontifical Council for Life will be held in the new synod hall on Feb. 27-28. On March 1, the council will hold its 12th general assembly.
The symposium will be opened by Bishop Elio Sgreccia, president of the Academy for Life.
The meeting will then be addressed by Cardinal Javier Lozano Barragán, president of the Pontifical Council for Health Care Workers, on the topic “The Culture of Death against the Culture of Life in the Teachings of ‘Evangelium Vitae.'”
It is hoped that on the first day of the meeting participants will be able to meet with Benedict XVI.
Among the activities scheduled is a discussion on the question “Is the Embryo a Person?”
