Ukrainian City Safe, Experts Say

SLAVUTYCH, Ukraine, JUNE 2, 2002 (Zenit.org).- A story in Friday´s ZENIT said this city, built for Chernobyl-plant workers, is still considered dangerous because of radiation from the 1986 nuclear accident. Nuclear specialists subsequently told ZENIT that the city is actually safe, being located about 20 kilometers (12 miles) outside the 30-kilometer “exclusion zone.”
