The US bishops’ Subcommittee for the Church in Latin America is hosting a World Youth Day contest, as the worldwide youth event — and the occasion for Pope Francis’ first international trip — is just over a month away.

World Youth Day will take place July 23-28 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The Facebook- and Twitter-based contest offers youth a chance to win prizes and learn more about the Subcommittee on the Church in Latin America and how they can help Catholics in Latin America live their faith.

Through the annual second collection for the Church in Latin America, the US bishops work in a special way to support Latin America and the Caribbean.

Those who want to participate in the contest watch the USCCB Facebook page and Twitter feed, where contest posts are designated as part of the online contest.

Participants enter by posting answers to the Facebook questions, with their chances of winning increasing based on their number of correct answers.
