The Lovers of the Holy Cross Sisters use professional training courses to teach the girls to embroider flowers, leaves, birds and animals on Japanese kimonos and traditional Korean costumes, reports Fides.
Korean manufacturers appreciate the detail and care of the work — and also the punctual delivery.
The religious sisters train about 600 girls aged 16 and 17 in small rooms next to the Cathedral Qui Nhon.
Today there are 273 professed women religious among the Lovers of the Holy Cross, as well as 54 aspirants and 23 novices.
The sisters also run remedial classes, day-care centers and credit projects for poor women in Vietnam’s rural areas.
