VATICAN CITY, APRIL 29, 2010 (Zenit.org).- Benedict XVI called to mind the May 1 feast of St. Joseph the Worker, inviting families to reflect on the place of work in their lives.
The Pope made this invitation Wednesday at the end of the general audience in his Polish-language greeting. He referred to the feast “next Saturday, memorial of St. Joseph the Worker, guardian of the Holy Family and patron of persons who through their work obtain their resources to live.”
The Pontiff expressed his hope that May 1 would offer “an opportunity to deepen reflection on the meaning of work and its just place in family life.”
He concluded, entrusting “all of you here present and all workers to St. Joseph’s protection.”
