World Congress of Catholic Doctors to Meet in September

VATICAN CITY, JULY 30, 2002 (Zenit.org).- The 21st World Congress of the International Federation of Associations Of Catholic Doctors will focus on the “Identity and Mission of Catholic Doctors in Health Care Ministry.”

Archbishop Javier Lozano Barragán, president of the Pontifical Council for Health Care Workers, will attend the Sept. 1-4 congress which will be held in Seoul, South Korea.

He will address the congress at the opening session, and read a message by John Paul II written for the occasion.

Four scientific sessions will follow the opening session: “The Church and Health Care Ministry: Ethos and Ethics”; “The Mission of the Catholic Doctor”; “The World Medical Mission: The Testimony of Catholic Doctors in the Field of International Cooperation in Health Care Ministry”; and “The Catholic Church and Health Care Management.”
