Police sources confirmed Tuesday’s arrests in the southern district of Vehari. Two of the arrested are said to be members of the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi Sunni organization, outlawed last August by President Pervez Musharraf.

Authorities said that three others involved in the attack on St. Dominic’s Catholic Church last October are still at large.

The assailants, part of a group of fundamentalists, entered the church on motorcycles during Mass, after killing the police guarding the church. They then opened fire on a group of Protestants, including women and children, who were using the building.
