A spokesman for the press office of the bishops’ conference said today that the Church’s hierarchy, which rejected outright the legislation, received with “satisfaction” the decision of a majority of the Senate.
Of the 102 Senators, only 87 were present during Tuesday’s session. They voted 55-32 to shelve the bill.
