Youth-Day Organizers Still Expect Papal Visit

ROME, FEB. 10, 2005 (Zenit.org).- Organizers of this year’s World Youth Day are still hoping that John Paul II can travel to Cologne, Germany, this August.

Heiner Koch, secretary-general of World Youth Day 2005 declared today: «We pray for a rapid recovery of the Pope. The Pope will come to Cologne. The preparations are still going on.»

The Pope returned to the Vatican today after being hospitalized for complications linked to the flu.

In December, Bishop Renato Boccardo, an organizer of papal trips, said that the Holy Father was planning to travel to Cologne from Aug. 18-21 for the Youth Day.
