Pope Francis will receive in audience the president of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, on Wednesday.
The director of the Vatican press office, Father Federico Lombardi, confirmed this meeting will take place between the Pope and the Russian President, pointing out that the Pope had previously been visited by Putin on November 25, 2013.
On the same day as his meeting with the Pope, President Putin will visit the Expo in Milan, on the occasion of the ‘Russian Day’ at the exhibition.
The Head of State is also expected to meet with the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, and Italian Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi. (D.C.L.)
