The Holy Father has asked all faithful to pray for him on the feast of the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica on November 9, 2018.
Pope Francis made this request two days before the feast during his weekly Wednesday General Audience on Nov. 7, in St. Peter’s Square.
“The day after tomorrow we will celebrate the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica, the Cathedral of the Bishop of Rome, the Pope’s Cathedral,” he said, asking: Pray for me, so that I always confirm the brothers in the faith.”
Called “Mother and Head of All the Churches of the City and the World”, the Lateran Basilica was the first to be built after the Edict of the Roman Emperor Constantine which gave freedom of worship to the Christians of the Roman Empire in 313 A.D..
