This year, about 25,000 children from Poland and over 1,800 Polish children coming from Belarus, Ukraine, Lithuania, and Georgia will go on holiday within “Caritas Holiday Action”, which has been organized for over 20 years by Caritas Poland. It enables thousands of children to spend their summer months outside the home – in the mountains, in Masuria or at the seaside. The action lasts until August 31.

Caritas Holiday Action is one of the biggest summer initiatives and one of the oldest conducted by Caritas Poland. It is intended for children from families who cannot afford a full-paid vacation trip. All diocesan Caritas teams join the action. Children and young beneficiaries of parish and socio-therapeutic daycare rooms leave for the summer camps, summer day camps and trips.

“Summer camps programs have been constructed in such a way that, apart from an exciting rest, they cover an integral development of the child and are directed towards the integral development of the personality. During the camp, integration and educational trips, historical, artistic and dance workshops, as well as sports competitions, are carried out,” said Fr. Marcin Izycki, Director of Caritas Poland.
