Pope Receives New Ambassador from Costa Rica

Pope Francis on January 4, 2020, received Federico Zamora Cordero, Ambassador of Costa Rica to the Holy See, in audience with the presentation of the Credentials.

The new Ambassador was born on December 26, 1955. He is married and has two daughters.

He graduated in economics at the José S. Cañas University (El Salvador – 1977); he specialized in Business Administration at the Autonomous University of Central America (Costa Rica – 1984).

Entrepreneur and investment consultant, he has held the following positions: Commercial Director Fotolit SA (1980-1985); Director Servicine SA and Lago Films SA (1986-1994); Director of Repretel SA and Central de Radios SA (1994-2008); Administrator for Prisma International Productions for Central America (2008-2012). Since 2012 he has been an independent commercial consultant for a number of companies.

Known foreign languages: English and Italian.
