The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Laurent Percerou, currently Bishop of Moulins, as Bishop of Nantes, Francs.

HE Mons. Laurent Percerou was born on September 11, 1961, in Dreux, in the Diocese of Chartres. After his higher studies at the Faculty of History of the University of Tours, he entered the seminary des Carmes in Paris. He completed his studies in Philosophy and Theology at the Institut Catholique in Paris, where he also obtained a Licentiate in Biblical and Systematic Theology. He also studied Canon Law at the University of Salamanca, Spain.

He was ordained a priest on June 14, 1992, for the Diocese of Chartres.

After ordination, he held the following positions: Pastor of Maintenon, Gallardon, and of the parish grouping of Challet, Gallardon, Maintenon, and Villiers-le-Mohier (1993-2003); Head of the Diocesan Service for Vocations (1995-2007); Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia (2003-2005). Diocesan Administrator (2005-2006). Vicar General (2006-2013). Furthermore, from 2005 to 2013, he was Assistant to the Scouts et Guides de France in Chartres, and from 2009 to 2013, Head of the diocesan service for catechesis.

On February 14, 2013, he was appointed Bishop of Moulins and received episcopal ordination on April 14, 2013. Within the French Episcopal Conference, he is President of the Council for the pastoral care of children and young people.
