Supreme Knight Carl Anderson announced Monday changes in the leadership for the men’s charitable group, which counts 1.8 million members.
Emilio Moure, who has served as supreme treasurer since 2009, will become supreme secretary upon the retirement of Donald Kehoe at the end of August.
Moure was born in Havana, Cuba, and immigrated to the United States at age 11. He holds a master’s degree in business administration.
Charles Maurer Jr., who was appointed assistant supreme treasurer July 31, will become supreme treasurer.
Maurer is an Indiana native, where he owns and operates a hardware business that has been in his family for 110 years.
Anderson praised the three men and the talents they bring to the order. “Emilio Moure and Charlie Maurer have had long and successful careers in the world of business, while Don Kehoe’s background in government, taxation and regulation has been indispensable to us over the past decade,» Anderson said. «And all three have spent most of their adult lives as leaders of the Knights of Columbus. We are very fortunate to be able to have such talented and dedicated Knights serving as supreme officers.»
