Pope Francis received Kofi Annan, former Secretary General of the United Nations, at Casa Santa Marta on November 6, 2017. Annan was accompanied by several members of “The Elders,” a pro-peace organization founded by Nelson Mandela in 2007.
According to a Tweet from the organizations, the conversation with the Holy Father centered on peace, refugees and climate change.
