The spiritual life and the sacrament of penance are of great value in discerning a vocation. They are a call for people who discern and help to discern, so that they may be people of faith, emphasized Bishop Marek Solarczyk, Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Warsaw-Praga, summing up the assembly’s deliberations on Saturday, October 13th.
The Synod Fathers met in the working groups to discuss, among other things the issue of conditions for accompanying the vocational discernment. “Today, in the groups, the reflection on the Instrumentum Laboris continued. The questions dealt with included the conditions for discerning a vocation, in which the spiritual life and the sacrament of penance are of great value. They are a call for people who discern and help to discern, so that they may be people of faith. It is also the path of people who confront the question of God’s will for their lives,” said Bishop Solarczyk.
“The second issue raised during today’s session was accompaniment. Strong emphasis was put on the value of the family along this path as well as on the contribution of the Church community. The irreplaceable role of priests who support and accompany people in decoding the path of God’s call was highlighted,” added Bishop Solarczyk, Chairman of the Youth Ministry Council of the Polish Bishops’ Conference.
