Sophia Institute Press has joined EWTN Global Catholic Network in forming a new book publishing group, EWTN Publishing Inc. Through this new venture, EWTN and Sophia Institute Press will work collaboratively in publishing books in both print and electronic form and to make them available to a worldwide audience.
“There is still a very strong demand for books related to topics of faith and religion, and while EWTN has done limited self-published titles for some time, this new publishing house will allow us to be more deliberate and focused in our efforts,” said EWTN Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Michael Warsaw. “By partnering with Sophia Institute Press, the Network does not need to build an entire publications and marketing team from scratch; but rather, we can rely on the technical expertise of a proven publisher who knows what it takes to edit, print and promote books for the Catholic marketplace.”
“All of us at Sophia Institute Press are thrilled to partner with EWTN in this new venture,» said Charlie McKinney, President of Sophia Institute Press. «EWTN played a profound role in my conversion to the Catholic Church, and I am excited to help expand the great content they produce into book form. Everyone I’ve met at EWTN has been incredibly gracious and encouraging, and we’re excited to join their work in saving souls and serving the Church.”
Some of the first titles expected to be produced by the new imprint will be Mother Angelica’s written works, including her popular mini-books, which will be updated and repackaged for a new generation; as well as content from “Mother Angelica Live” and other EWTN shows, which will be edited and turned into books.
Sophia Institute Press publishes faithful Catholic classics and new Catholic books by the enduring figures of the Catholic intellectual tradition. In addition, Sophia Institute’s other apostolates include Crisis Magazine, Catholic Exchange, and Sophia Institute for Teachers, which provides Catholic school educators with teaching strategies, classroom materials and background knowledge to engage students with the Faith.
