A new television documentary, “John Paul II, Witness of the Invisible,” follows the Holy Father´s trips — plus his interior, spiritual trek.
The film was produced by the Vatican Television Center and written by Italian journalist Alberto Michelini, who presents the Pope and his pontificate as an interior journey, in order to witness the presence of God in the world to mankind. The film was presented in Rome this morning.
The documentary includes biographical data as well as the most important topics of John Paul II´s pontificate, which are also reflected in his trips. The biography reveals a figure affected by totalitarian regimes who becomes a tireless defender of liberty.
“John Paul II, Witness of the Invisible” was presented within the framework of the study conference on “John Paul II and the Cinema,” a prologue to this weekend´s Jubilee of the World of Entertainment. The initiative was organized by the pontifical councils of culture and social communications, the Vatican Film Library, Cinematographic Magazine, and the communications department of the Salesian University.
The participating institutions at the conference agreed to create a foundation, named St. Lucy, to help youths to develop their talents in the field of film and television.
