Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio celebrated the Mass of the Lord´s Supper on Holy Thursday in the hospital, for the patients and their relatives, and the nurses, doctors and volunteers attending them. After the homily, he washed the AIDS patients´ feet and expressed his closeness and support.
When the Mass was over, the cardinal took Communion to those patients who were unable to attend the eucharistic liturgy and he anointed the sick.
