VATICAN CITY, JUNE 10, 2001 (Zenit.org).- John Paul II wrote a brief letter on the occasion of the centenary celebrations of the Eucharistic Congress of St. Louis, Missouri, which will be held next Friday and Saturday.
The letter, written in Latin, is addressed to Belgian Cardinal Jan Pieter Schotte, secretary-general of the Synod of Bishops, who is the Pope´s «special envoy» to the event. In the letter, the Holy Father recalls his own January 1999 visit to that archdiocese.
