A small group of Catholics in Uzbekistan started the service, the first of its kind in Russian.

The Web site also has translations of articles of the Vatican missionary agency Fides, L´Osservatore Romano and other Catholic agencies.

In statements published by Fides, the first agency to disclose the news, Father Krzystof Kukulka, superior of the Catholic Mission sui generis at Tashkent, explained that there “is very little information on the activity and the life of the Catholic Church in the world available in Russian, despite the growing interest in the Church among Russian-speaking peoples.”
