Archbishop Ignatius Pinto of Bangalore encouraged the group of about 20 members to promote vocations through prayer and active involvement.

According to Jeanette D’Souza, president of Serra Bangalore, the group will make a directory of the archdiocesan clergy and the various religious congregations. It will also spread information to the youth through exhibitions and seminars in parishes and schools.

The Serra International Web site states that the group’s members «work to promote vocations to the priesthood and vowed religious life, and strive to further their own Christian vocations to service in fellowship with one another.»
