In a telegram, sent by Cardinal Angelo Sodano, Vatican secretary of state, to Archbishop Domenico De Luca, apostolic nuncio in Morocco, the Pope assures his prayers for the victims and their relatives.
The telegram also «denounces once again the blind violence that strikes the innocent» and asks «the Almighty to illuminate consciences and sustain the efforts of men of peace.»
«In this painful circumstance, the Pope assures the Moroccan people and their leaders of his profound sympathy,» the telegram concluded.
