Caritas Internationalis Re-elects Lebanese Archbishop

ROME, JULY 10, 2003 (Zenit.org).- Delegates at the general assembly of Caritas Internationalis re-elected Lebanese Archbishop Fouad El-Hage of Tripoli as their president for another four-year period.

Archbishop El-Hage, 64, who has been head of the Maronite-rite Archdiocese of Tripoli since 1997.

Duncan MacLaren of Scotland was confirmed in the post of secretary-general, to which he was elected four years ago. Before that, he had been secretary-general of Caritas-Europe.
