Five hundred youths attended the summer camps organized in Mosul in July, and 800 attended those organized in Qara Qosh in August.

Although relations between the Christian minority and the Sunni Muslim majority are good, the activities were open only to Christian youths.

“This decision was not determined by confessional prejudices, but by the fact that the Christians have few occasions to meet and receive specific formation,” said Father Pier Giorgio Gianazza, who oversaw the program.
