Auxiliary Named for Baltimore

BALTIMORE, Maryland, JULY 4, 2004 (Zenit.org).- John Paul II has named Monsignor Mitchell Rozanski, a pastor in Severna Park, as auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Baltimore.

Bishop-elect Rozanski, 45, will fill the vacancy left by the retirement of Bishop William Newman last August.

Mitchell Rozanski was born in Baltimore. He studied at the Theological College at the Catholic University of America, where he received seminary training. He was ordained a priest of the archdiocese in November 1984.
