Schiavo Parents' Request Rejected

TALLAHASSEE, Florida, MARCH 23, 2005 (Zenit.org).- A federal appeals court rejected another bid by Terri Schiavo’s parents to have her feeding tube reinserted.

The Georgia-based U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, in a 10-2 decision, refused Bob and Mary Schindler’s request for an emergency rehearing by the full court. A three-judge panel from the same tribunal ruled against the family earlier today. The court did not publicly explain its decision.

In Tallahassee, Governor Jeb Bush renewed his call for the Legislature to “spare Terri’s life.” Schiavo has not received any nourishment since a feeding tube was pulled Friday.
