A response to: Killing Those Deemed Unworthy of Life
My 11-year-old daughter has Down Syndrome. I received her diagnosis prenatally at 22-weeks gestation. I never, for a moment, considered terminating her life. She, like all children, is a gift from God. She can be very challenging at times but I have witnessed her simplicity, silliness and joy moving the hardest of hearts. Pope Benedict’s comments and the Church’s teaching are, without a doubt, the best for all of humanity. My daughter is the evidence of worthiness!
