Pontiff Invites Couples to Learn From Nazareth

VATICAN CITY, MAY 4, 2011 (Zenit.org).- Noting that in many parts of the world, Christians dedicate the month of May to Mary, Benedict XVI put Our Lady at the center of his traditional reflections to conclude the general audience.

He ended the audience in St. Peter’s Square — in which he had begun a new series of catechesis on prayer — with his customary greeting for youth, the sick and newlyweds.

«Dear young people, place yourselves every day in the school of Mary Most Holy to learn from her to fulfill the will of God,» the Pope said.

He added: «Contemplating the Mother of Christ crucified, may you, dear sick, be able to accept the salvific value of all suffering lived together with Jesus. And you, dear newlyweds, invoke her maternal protection, so that in your family life the climate of the house of Nazareth will always reign.»
