Pope Francis is visiting the northern Italian city of Carpi, near Bologna, on April 2, and yesterday, the Vatican released the following program of the Pontiff’s day trip:

8:15 Departure from Vatican heliport
9:45 Landing at the”Dorando Pietri” rugby field, athletic track in Carpi
10:30 Holy Mass in Piazza of the Martyrs
Words of thanks to S.E. Msgr. Francesco Cavina, Bishop of Carpi
At the end of the Holy Mass: Angelus Blessing of the foundation stones of three new buildings of the Diocese of Carpi: the Parish of St. Agatha in Carpi; the Retreat House of St. Anthony in Novi; the “Citadel of Charity” in Carpi
13:00 Lunch at the Episcopal Seminary with the bishops of the Region, and elderly priests who reside in the House of Clergy and Seminarians
15:00 Meeting with the diocesan priests, men and women religious, the seminarians in the Seminary Chapel
Introductory words of S.E. Msgr. Francesco Cavina, Bishop of Carpi
After the meeting with the clergy, the Holy Father leaves the seminary and stop briefly at the Cathedral
Transfer by car in Mirandola
16:30 Visit to the Dome of Mirandola
The Holy Father’s Square stop in front of the entrance to the cathedral, still unusable after the earthquake
In the area adjacent to the Parish of San Giacomo Roncole Mirandola, floral tribute at the monument that remembers the victims of the earthquake
17:30 Farewell and take-off from the sports field adjacent to the Parish of San Giacomo Roncole
19:00 Landing Vatican heliport
